“I am unable to import the SMOOTH TRANSITION PRESET, premiere says file not supported”
-Answer: Unzip the downloaded files before importing into premiere. Premiere does not import .zip files, it needs the .prfpset file. Also, make sure to import in the EFFECTS panel>presets section, not in the project panel.

“The transitions worked before, but stopped working now”
-Possible solutions:

  • Make sure that you follow the exact steps as shown in the tutorial video.
  • Use a 16:9 aspect ratio sequence (1920×1080, 2560×1440 or 3840×2160)
  • Don’t use more than one adjustment layer on the transition
  • Avoid adding extra effects in the adjustment layer (color grading in no problem)
  • Remove and re-import the presets
  • Create a new project and see if that works
  • Resetting preferences: Rename 12.0 folder to Old_12.0
    Windows: C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\12.0
    Mac: Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 12.0
